Riga 2015

During an annual general meeting held in 2013, the members of EPOA decided to grant the license for hosting EuroPride 2015 to Riga, the capital city of Latvia and the member organisation Mozaika.

The events took place from June 15 through June 21. The traditional EuroPride Parade departed from Vērmanes Park, a big garden in the center of the city, saturday June 20. 5.000 people attended the demonstration. Despite a few tensions due to the fact that the latvian population is still homophobic, no problems were reported, and everybody enjoyed the rally organised in the park after the demonstration, during which the american folk music singer Steve Grand performed.
