Stockholm international airport is located in Arlanda, at 40 km of the city center.

Taking a taxi to the city will cost you between 400 et 500 SEK. Prices are free, so check the price with the driver before leaving the airport. Other solutions to go down town :

Bus shuttle : operated by Flygbussarna

Arlanda Express : very confortable and rapid train shuttle between the airport and Stockholm central station. 20 minutes. 4 to 6 departures every hour.

Public Transportation

Stockholm has a very good bus network, and 3 underground lines. The tube stations are identified by a T in a circle. Tickets can be bought at the bus stops and in the metro stations.

The main areas of the city are also linked by boat, a very convenient means to move rapidly while enjoying a beautiful point of view.

Stockholm Card

If you plan to move a lot, consider buying a Stockholm Card, which will allow you to use the public transportation system freely for 24 hours. The card includes free admission to the city’s sights, free public transport, boat trips and special offers.

Show your EuroPride dog tag and pay just SEK 415 (ordinary price is SEK 460) for a 48-hour Stockholm Card.

The Stockholm Card is available :

  • at the Stockholm Tourist Centre, Kungsträdgården, for sale from the 1st July
  • at the EuroPride Information Centre, located in Gallerian, the commercial center, for sale from the 21st July
  • at the Pride Park, for sale from the 25th July

Although Sweden is part of Europe, the country has kept its money the Swedish Crown (SEK). Numerous automatic tellers are available in town. The major credit cards are accepted everywhere.


The official language is Swedish, but English is spoken by everybody.
